As part of re-orienting the building towards Waterman, our new front patio, steps and ramp are now poured! (No more climbing up to get inside.)
Our exposed ceilings are now light grey with a fresh coat of paint. This look makes all the details in the ceiling ‘disappear’ and also helps the building look clean and bright inside. The walls are done now too. Next up, silver, shiny HVAC systems.
Pouring the footings for the front deck, stairs and wheelchair ramp today. Soon, we’ll say goodbye to having to ‘sneak’ in through the back door.
In dramatic fashion, the HVAC units were flown in from vacation in The Hamptons. (Okay, not exactly, they came from a warehouse a few miles away.). They will now spend their time on the roof of 400 S. Commerce keeping us cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
These three shipping containers (5,000 lbs each!) have now been loaded through the window opening on our building! After being painted and outfitted with glass doors, carpet, electrical outlets, lighting and connected to the HVAC system they will serve as breakout rooms for RSA staff and clients.
We tip our hat to the history on Commerce St. as a shipping and warehousing district that now houses so many creative people!
